Pride Against Censorship Toolkit 2026
What’s happening?
Fight for the Future is a queer and trans led organization made up of activists, tech policy nerds, artists and technologists who are working to defend the Internet. We’ve been laser focused on fighting online censorship and surveillance legislation that the authors of Project 2025, their allies and other fascists are pushing in order to erase queer and trans people from public life.
We know it’s a dangerous and scary time for so many marginalized people in the U.S. right now. The LGBTQ+ community in particular is in danger of losing online community, safe spaces and resources that are essential lifelines, especially youth.
See the resources section below to read more.
What’s our ask?
Most groups raise the bulk of their funding in the last month of the year. We’ve had to throw down hard against an onslaught of censorship efforts this spring, and critical funding is drying up. The stakes are much too high— this work can’t wait till December.
This Pride Month, we’re asking our supporters to help fund the fight against censorship year-round by helping us raise $15,000 and welcome 30 new monthly sustainers.
Our ask is that our trusted friends and supporters not only chip in with what they can but also help us amplify our Pride 2026 donation page, using this toolkit to help us get the word out!
What to do:
🗣️Use your voice: take to social media to help bring attention to our organization and the work we’re doing to save critical resources for the LGTBQ+ community. Don’t worry—we’ve got sample scripts below!
🏳️🌈 Share the Pride 2026 page: Direct your followers or friends to our donation page by sharing this link via post or direct message → fftf.link/pride2026
🔄 Share our posts: No time to write your own posts? We’ll be posting content all Pride Month starting June 1st that you can share on LinkedIn, Instagram, Bluesky, and beyond: fftf.link/bio
Other Suggestions:

Sample 2: 😳There’s a lot of concerning legislation currently on the move that will impact our freedom to use platforms like this to talk about LGBTQ+ resources, reproductive health, and queer life experiences.
If these bills get passed, they will enable censorship of content that conservative politicians disagree with and create barriers for vulnerable people to be able to use the internet.
🏳️🌈 If you think it’s important to protect freedom of speech and expression and LGBTQ resources on the Internet, please take the opportunity now to support Fight for the Future, a queer and trans led org that is doing this work and needs our help to keep those fires burning year round. ‘Protect the kids’ has been a dog whistle for censoring LGTBQ people for decades. We’ve seen in with ‘don’t say gay bills’, book bans, drag bans, and now, on the Internet. That’s why I’m helping to fund the fight against censorship with Fight for the Future, a queer and trans led org fighting online censorship and surveillance legislation that fascists like the authors of Project 2025 are pushing in order to erase queer and trans people from public life. Whatever capacity you have to give, whether it’s $5 for a cup of coffee or $50 (which will get you some rad merch), every cent will help fuel the resistance to these awful bills that are targeting the LGTBQ community.
